About the Business

Our client is a well-established and highly respected Australian agribusiness — a leader in their market both locally and interstate. As a major primary producer, they play a key role in Australia’s agricultural supply chain, with a strong commitment to safe, sustainable and efficient operations and a genuine culture of looking after their people.

An exciting opportunity now exists in the newly created role of Workplace Health & Safety Coordinator. Reporting to the Workplace Health & Safety Manager, you will take ownership of aspects of WHS across diverse agricultural operations and drive a strong, practical safety culture from the ground up.

The primary focus of the role is to ensure existing WH&S policies and procedures are aligned across all farming operations. There will also be a requirement to spend time in the field alongside operational teams, supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of the company’s Health & Safety Management System, guiding injury management and workplace rehabilitation, and ensuring compliance with Queensland WHS legislation.

The Role:

  • Coordinate and maintain the company’s Health & Safety Management System across all operations, in line with QLD legislation and industry best practice;

  • Develop, review and implement WHS policies, procedures and Safe Work Method Statements;

  • Conduct site inspections, risk assessments, audits and incident investigations, driving continuous improvement initiatives;

  • Manage WHS reporting and documentation to internal best-practice standards;

  • Coordinate workplace rehabilitation and return-to-work programs in accordance with the Workers’ Compensation and Rehabilitation Act;

  • Deliver WHS training, inductions and toolbox talks across sites;

  • Coach and support leaders and employees to build a proactive, practical safety culture;

  • Act as the key point of contact for all WHS matters across the business.

The Person:

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health & Safety (or equivalent);

  • Return to Work Coordinator qualifications highly regarded;

  • Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (minimum TAE40116) highly regarded;

  • Previous WHS experience, ideally within agribusiness, farming, manufacturing or another high-risk environment;

  • Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation and compliance requirements;

  • A practical, solutions-focused approach with the confidence to engage with people at all levels;

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills;

  • Willingness to travel between sites as required.

What’s on Offer:

  • A dynamic career opportunity with a highly reputable agribusiness;

  • The chance to make a real, measurable impact on safety outcomes in a newly created role;

  • Generous salary package including a fully maintained company vehicle and local housing;

  • A supportive team environment with genuine long-term career potential.

How to Apply:

To succeed in this role, you’ll be a dedicated safety professional with a ‘can do’ attitude — equally comfortable behind the desk refining WHS policy as you are out in the field rolling out safety initiatives.
