The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity now exists in the newly created role of Workplace Health & Safety Coordinator. They are looking for a suitably experienced and qualified individual to join the team and take ownership of WHS across diverse agricultural operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of the company’s Health and Safety Management System, promoting and developing a strong internal safety culture, providing guidance and support on injury management and workplace rehabilitation, and ensuring legislative compliance.  This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys being out in the field, working closely with operational teams to embed a strong safety culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure company-wide compliance with the company’s Health and Safety Management Systems across all operations;
  • Manage WHS reporting including reviewing, editing,designing and developing policies and procedures to ensure internal best practice
  • Conduct audits and drive continuous improvement initiatives;
  • Coordinate and maintain WHS systems in line with QLD legislation and industry best practice;
  • Conduct site inspections, risk assessments and incident investigations;
  • Develop, review, implement and review safety policies, procedures and Safe Work Method Statements;
  • Provide workplace rehabilitation in accordance with the Workers Compensation and Rehabilitation Act;
  • Deliver WHS training, inductions and toolbox talks;
  • Support leaders and employees to promote a proactive, practical safety culture;
  • Act as a key point of contact for WHS matters across the business.

The Person

  • Certificate IV or Diploma in Work Health & Safety (or equivalent);
  • Return to Work qualifications highly regarded;
  • Certificate IV in TAW (Minimum TAE40116) highly regarded;
  • Previous WHS experience, ideally within agribusiness, farming, manufacturing or a high-risk environment;
  • Strong working knowledge of WHS legislation and compliance requirements;
  • Practical, solutions-focused approach with the confidence to engage with people at all levels;
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills;
  • Willingness to travel to sites across as required.
